Biography

Damian William, whose real name is Damien Chapus, is a French electronic music DJ and producer from Valence, active since the early 2000s. Over the years, he has produced under several aliases, including French Foundation, Demonia, 4d4m, and Rada. He is known for his signature blend of melodic techno and progressive house, combining powerful grooves with emotional atmospheres and cinematic soundscapes.

His music has been released on major international labels such as Spinnin' Records, Armada Music, Black Hole Recordings, Dim Mak Records, and Revealed Recordings. His DJ sets—especially his show Overclub, streamed on YouTube—immerse listeners in a deep, melodic universe that bridges emotional techno, trance, and progressive house.

Career

Damian William began producing music in the 2000s. Before adopting his current artist name, he released several tracks under aliases like French Foundation (Gust On The Dance Floor, The Shiver), Demonia (I Wish), 4d4m (Invicci, Metamorph), and Rada (The Yaka).

In a 2012 interview with Your EDM, he shared that he started DJing at age 16 at weddings and birthday parties. His passion for electronic music grew after attending the Techno Parade in Paris, where he was inspired by Carl Cox's performance. He released early tracks on French labels such as Academy Records (founded by Antoine Clamaran) and Hypetraxx Records, known for the Tecktonik hit Alive by Mondotek.

His breakthrough came with the release of Naneo on In Charge (a sublabel of Spinnin' Records founded by Marco V). In 2013, he collaborated directly with Marco V on Essence, also released on In Charge. This marked a turning point in his career.

He later joined Revealed Recordings (founded by Hardwell) and gained support from major DJs such as Tiësto, David Guetta, Judge Jules (BBC Radio 1), Markus Schulz, Paul van Dyk, and Antoine Clamaran on Fun Radio. His track What Da Hell gained notable attention after being played by Avicii during Tomorrowland 2014.
